About Bombay Cafe

Bombay Cafe at 1280 E Vista Way in Vista, California, is the kind of Indian restaurant that feels easy to settle into. It has a cozy, understated setting, so the focus stays right where it should be: warm spices, comforting sauces, and familiar Indian dishes that make a meal feel satisfying without being too fussy.

The menu leans into classic Indian favorites, which is great if you are craving something rich, bold, and full of flavor. Chicken korma is one of the standout choices for anyone who enjoys a creamy, mildly spiced dish. The sauce is smooth and comforting, with a gentle sweetness that pairs well with rice or naan. It is the kind of plate that works well for both regular Indian food fans and first-time visitors who want something flavorful but not too spicy.

For diners who prefer more heat, shrimp vindaloo brings a sharper, brighter kick. It has that bold, tangy character people often look for in vindaloo, with enough spice to keep things interesting. The shrimp adds a lighter seafood touch, making it a good option when you want something punchy but not overly heavy.

Besides these dishes, Bombay Cafe offers the kind of Indian standards many guests expect from a neighborhood spot. Think saucy curries, fragrant rice, warm bread, and plates made for sharing across the table. That makes it a solid choice for a casual dinner, a relaxed lunch, or a takeout meal when you want something more flavorful than the usual quick bite.

The atmosphere is simple and comfortable rather than flashy. That works in its favor. You can come in for a quiet meal, talk easily with your group, and enjoy the food without distractions. It feels approachable, especially for people who like restaurants that keep things relaxed and straightforward.

What makes Bombay Cafe appealing is its balance. The food feels familiar, the setting is welcoming, and the menu gives you enough variety to choose based on your mood. Go creamy with chicken korma, go bold with shrimp vindaloo, or build a full table with rice, naan, and a few different curries to share.

For anyone searching for an Indian restaurant in Vista, Bombay Cafe is worth keeping on the list. It offers classic dishes in a calm, cozy space, making it a dependable stop for warm spices, comforting flavors, and a laid-back meal on E Vista Way.

  • I've been to this location two times and bought different kinds of menu items each time. I do say this it is on the pricy side however, it is amazing food and would recommend this place to other people. The service is also amazing as well and tend to the customer fast. The ambiance inside is a little dark but cozy. You can tell that it is a family owned business and they really take pride in their work. For the price of the food they don't give you a lot of meat however, the flavor of the food is amazing.

  • I love their food! It is consistently delicious every time. My last meal would absolutely include their coconut naan, it's so good! Yes, their curries are mostly sweet, but I like that it balances the spice. The chicken korma is my favorite, along with their to die for veggie samosas! If you dine in, this is a place to take your time and enjoy your company and the food. This is not fast food, the Indian mamas in the back work hard and make each meal with love. So don't dine in if you're in a hurry, call ahead and order to go. I love that this is family owned and run, in today's world of chain restaurants it's good to support locals. Everyone who works here is so kind. Highly recommend!

  • I have ordered several times for pickup. The food takes slightly longer because it is prepared to order. I feel the restaurant is more suited to takeout. The only thing I wasn't impressed with food wise were vegetable pakoras. And I don't blame the restaurant. Fried food to go never stands up as well and I'm also very food finicky. The naan, curries, and rice I have tried were very enjoyable. I will definitely order again. Obviously, the business is family owned and operated, and I love to shop local.
